The Swimmer Who Beat His Total Speed Time Record

My son name is Vince S., He has been competing in the Metro swim League a little over a year now. The Metro Swim League is a Swim Meet tournament all New York City after-school Clubhouses’ Swim teams participate in. The Swim Meets are once, twice or even three times a month. Vince has been a member of the Boys Club of New York clubhouse since 2011.

Fall of 2015, Vince was given a great opportunity to join the Gerry Clubhouse Tiburones swimming team. As a beginner, Vince was not comfortable swimming in deep water, He was not as confident because he was not as fast as the other kids. Vince started to reconsider his decision, not sure if joining the team was a good idea. Over time, As Vince started to learn the techniques of becoming a great swimmer. He became determined and dedicated to beat his own time speed RECORD, Making that a goal at each meet.

Meet after meet, Vince would do an amazing job, Improving his skills every chance he got, from being determined and dedicated to his craft, He started to pick up his time.

Last year, Vince came in second to Last or Last place in 50free, 50fly and 100IM, But NOT THIS YEAR!!! At each meet, Vince started to slowly beat his time speed RECORD. March 4th, 2017 was the Metro Swim league championship, Vince came in 1st place back to back and 2nd place, Beating his original 50free, 50fly and 100IM speed time. He received two ribbons for being in the Top 10, coming in at 9th and 10th place, beating his original Speed Time RECORD in total.

Vince dreams of one day becoming a professional swimmer, In hopes of joining the Olympics and beating Michael Phelps RECORD.

Murmuration Of Birds: Two Biggest Fears!

img_9167

Whenever I am underneath a MURMURATION of Birds, I become very nervous, Hoping that none of them poop on me.

Whenever I am underneath  a MURMURATION of Birds with open food, I become a little scared, Thinking one bird would notice the food in my hand from a far, Turn around and aim towards me while the rest follows.

The thought of being chewed up, Attacked or Surrounded by Birds gives me the creeps, Especially in New York City , The birds are very tough and not friendly, They do not care, They are not afraid and They are aggressive, A MURMURATION of Birds in NYC has no problem flying so low almost knocking you upside your head,  Try to take your food, NO NO NO…..I do not want any problems with them!!

I do not like to see, Be underneath or Around a MURMURATION of Birds it really freaks me out!

 Breaking life “Patterns”

Breaking PATTERNS are very difficult, As you get older, You have to learn how to change the way you think, The way you present yourself and the way you handle situations. In order to do so, It requires you to break current life PATTERNS that you are 1)Comfortable with, 2) Use to and 3) live for.

PATTERNS are habits people adapt to over time, We are not born with them, We learn them, It could be learned from Society, Environments, Lifestyle, People you associate yourself with, The places you hang out at, The person you date, Family, School, past life experiences or situations etc. These PATTERNS you create are very easy to transition into but so hard to transition out of. But all PATTERNS of life are changeable, You just have to be willing to take the effort.

Anything is possible to change, When it comes to Self-Elevation.

Happy International Women’s Day💕

Empowering Women’s Day!!!

Being a Woman to me…..It’s to be Powerful why? Because we birth this Nation Duuuaahhhhhh without us there would be no you. To be a Woman is to be fearless, Is to be confident, Is to be a go getter not a gold digger, To be Independent, To be a Nurturer, Just to be able to wear many hats to transition to who ever you need to be in that moment.

Women are phenomenal, We as women don’t get enough credit, we don’t get enough respect, We don’t get enough praise as we should and it sad because we are one of the most beautifulest creatures on earth, We give life, We lose life to give life, We ruin our bodies sometimes we lose our minds, It’s  just so much that comes with being a woman and we are just treated like shit.

Women’s Crush Wednesday

I dedicate today’s W.C.W to all the beautiful women out there. Hey Girl,  You are the shit, beauty runs so deep, it pours from the inside out. You all are queens, any man would be lucky to have you. Your children are blessed to you have mothers’ like you. You are so precious, nothing in this world can compare. To find a woman who’s beautiful from the inside and out is so Rare. Your appearance does not define who you are, it’s your mental, your spirit and your heart.

Girl, you are fine!!! Do not let society tell you that your features are not accepted because they are different. Be your own WOMAN, be YOU, be an INDIVIDUAL, be the woman society needs and not the illusion social media portrays. Girllll!!!!!!! You better work!!!! Fix that crown, it’s tilting a little, you must always remember that you are royalty. Your worth is more than a few dollars, gifts, shoes, clothes, and Bags. Your worth is something money can’t buy. As women, we are all unique in our own individual way for a REASON; You can not be her, she can not be you. That’s the beauty of individuality. We were not put on this earth to seek validation from no one or worship no one. We have to learn how to worship ourselves, Learn to LOVE who you are.We are GODS, CREATORS, SURVIVORS, WARRIORS!!!! Never forget, you hold the power!

Thoughts on the Immigration Executive order

What is this world coming to!!  It is so much going on, I can not keep up. I feel sad for everyone who’s going through the immigration Ban. This could be anyone of us, our family, our friends, it’s heartbreaking. Growing up, talking to the “immigrant children” They would speak so highly of America and how grateful they are to be a part of this great land, how their families came here for a better life. Fast forward to present day, The country immigrants once viewed as so amazing and so great is now showing them they do not matter.

The same people who lived in this country happy for many years , who helped built houses in this country, who started families in this country are now being rejected because they were not born in here !!! This is so devastating.
But Why should I care? I am an “American” (rolling eyes) “yeah right” People of color are Americans but they are still being targeted and killed today, By those who feel that they are Superior. I care because right is right and wrong is wrong!! This is so wrong!!! It should not matter about a person’s race or religion they are still HUMAN!!!

People come here for a better opportunity for themselves and for their families. Everything they worked hard for is literally being ripped from them right before their eyes. This is not only affecting one group, It’s affecting the nation.

Why is it that people are judge based off their own beliefs, race, choices and identity?  Growing up, They teach us that we are the owners of our bodies and we are the ones who endures the consequences of our life choices. So why do people feel it’s ok to judge, look down on others or hurt others? How could this be the land of the free when there are executive orders in play to keep people from trying to live the best way they know how? Oh I get it, It’s the land of the free to a certain extent. It’s a crime to be anything other than what the government implies, Like what the fuck!!

When will the discrimination stop??? How is it that it is against the law to discriminate at work, at school, for housing, hospital and anywhere else in America, but it’s ok for the COMMANDER IN CHIEF to discriminate on the people of this NATION. You suppose to lead by example. It’s a deeper than what we think and what they are telling us, but everything will come to light soon.
